The G1008D are 8 port Gigabit switches respectively. They
support auto MDI/MDIX and store-and-forward switching. The G1005D
has a 10Gbps backplane bandwidth while the G1008D has a 16Gbps
backplane bandwidth. Design and functionality make these switches
excellent for small offices or work groups in need of high
transmission rates, or they can be use very effectively in
connecting two slower departmental switches in a larger
network.
